The game starts with the placing of both the big and small blinds. The croupier then deals each player 4 "hole" cards face down. Betting round number 1 starts clockwise from the big blind. After the initial round of wagering happens, the dealer deals out three cards on the flop to the community. These cards are distributed face up in the middle of the poker table.

After the flop, an additional round of betting happens and the turn card is then dealt to the community (face up) followed by another round of wagering, raising, calling, checking and folding. The last card dealt to the community is called the river card (dealt face up aswell) and a final round of betting follows with a faceoff taking place to determine who the winner(s) of the pot is/are.

Deciding a winner in any hi-low game is somewhat different than in many poker games. Each pot has 2 winners. half of the pot will go to the individual with the highest low hand and fifty% of the money will be given to the individual with the best high hand. If the pot does not have a winning low hand due to qualification, then the high hand wins the entire pot.

In Omaha hi-low, the low hand must qualify for a low hand with an 8 or lower. If hands don’t qualify, then the high hand takes the pot and if there is a tie, the money is then divide based on the high hand win.
